Innovative PowerSwap Nucleus Lithium Power System
PowerSwap Nucleus® Lithium Power System

The FIRST lithium portable power pack designed for industrial environments
The new PowerSwap Nucleus® Lithium Power System from Newcastle Systems raises the bar for workplace mobility.

Why Nucleus?
A nucleus is, by definition, the central and most important part of an object, movement, or group, forming the basis for its activity and growth. This small, swappable, durable, portable battery pack is central to a mobile workstation system, providing the power for productivity.
The PowerSwap Nucleus® enables productivity to happen by providing power to devices such as a laptop, tablet, barcode or inkjet printer, scanner and more for 8+ hours at a time.
Once the battery charge is depleted, simply swap it with a fully charged one in a matter of seconds enabling a 24/7 operation. No tools or heavy lifting required.

The PowerSwap Nucleus® Lithium Power System offers a swappable battery that weighs in at a mere 11 lbs, allowing for any employee to easily swap them or move them to the charger at the end of a shift.
Outstanding Benefits
Lightweight: Only 11 lbs per battery
Error-Proof: Never lose a full day of production due to someone forgetting to charge the cart.
Fully Swappable: In a matter of seconds so you'll never run out of battery power
Durable: 5-7 year battery life or 3,000 cycles - making it a great investment
Hardware-Friendly: Quiet, seamless AC power (no need to source for DC specific hardware)

**Lithium Safety Concerns**: The Newcastle battery employs Lithium-Iron Phosphate technology, which is significantly more stable than standard lithium-ion or lithium-polymer solutions. Unlike these chemistries, Lithium-Iron Phosphate batteries are not subject to potentially dangerous ignition events when subjected to over-heating or mechanical abuse.

At 460 watt hours per battery pack, the PowerSwap Nucleus® Lithium Power System is the most powerful mobile workstation battery of its size. Its AC output will power over 80% of standard workstation configurations for a full shift with only 1 or 2 batteries!
Sealed, tough plastic casing means your power source can survive in the toughest industrial conditions.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Newcastle PowerSwap Nucleus lithium battery power station?
The Newcastle Systems PowerSwap Nucleus is a standalone lithium iron phosphate battery power station designed to provide portable, reliable AC power to workstations, equipment, and devices in locations where a fixed outlet isn't available or accessible. Unlike a full mobile cart, the Nucleus is a power-only module — it integrates with most Newcastle Cart Series, or your own existing carts, shelving, or workstation setups to add battery-powered mobility to equipment that would otherwise be tethered to the wall.
The PowerSwap name refers to the system's hot-swap capability: when the battery runs low, it can be quickly swapped out for a fully charged unit without tools, keeping operations running continuously without waiting for a full recharge cycle. This makes the Nucleus particularly well-suited for multi-shift operations and high uptime environments.
Swappable batteries are Lithium Iron Phosphate battery chemistry and have a battery bank of 460 Wh (1 battery) / 920 Wh (2 batteries). Battery is lightweight at 11 lbs. Batteries fully charge in about 4-5 hours.
Are PowerSwap Nucleus lithium batteries safe?
The Newcastle Nucleus battery employs Lithium-Iron Phosphate technology, which is significantly more stable than standard lithium-ion or lithium-polymer solutions. Unlike these chemistries, Lithium-Iron Phosphate batteries are not subject to potentially dangerous ignition events when subjected to over-heating or mechanical abuse.
What types of equipment can the PowerSwap Nucleus power?
The PowerSwap Nucleus can power any standard AC-connected equipment within its rated wattage output (460 / 920 Wh)— including laptops, monitors, barcode printers, barcode scanners, receipt printers, tablets, and other workplace peripherals. It is well-suited for warehousing, manufacturing, and distribution applications where equipment needs to move with the worker or operate away from fixed infrastructure.
The Nucleus includes standard AC outlets and is compatible with the full range of Newcastle workstation accessories and mounting hardware, making it easy to integrate into existing setups.
How does the hot-swap battery feature of the PowerSwap Nucleus work?
The PowerSwap Nucleus is designed so that its lithium battery module can be removed and replaced with a fully charged spare without shutting down the connected equipment — a capability Newcastle calls "hot-swap." In practice, this means an operation can keep a spare battery on charge and swap it in seconds when the active battery runs low, returning the depleted battery to a charger and maintaining continuous operation without downtime.
Hot-swap capability is particularly valuable in multi-shift operations, where power stations need to remain productive for more hours than a single battery charge can provide, and waiting for a full recharge isn't operationally acceptable.
