 The PowerSwap Nucleus® is Newcastle Systems' flagship portable power system, available in Classic (460/920 Wh) and Mini (230 Wh) configurations. It uses swappable lithium iron phosphate battery packs, supports multiple shifts without downtime, and is compact enough for both cart-mounted and standalone use. The PowerSwap Nucleus® Mini is a smaller-footprint version of the Nucleus Classic and offers a 230 Wh battery. It’s designed for lighter power applications where space and weight are priorities. It delivers strong cost-to-performance for equipment setups that don't require the Nucleus Classic's full capacity. 

 Yes. Newcastle power systems are designed to be adaptable and can be retrofitted onto other industrial carts for applications such as picking, replenishing, and stocking. They are not limited to use with Newcastle-branded equipment. 

Newcastle Systems uses Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4) chemistry — a chemistry specifically chosen for its thermal and chemical stability. Unlike other lithium types, Lithium Iron Phosphate does not pose a risk of thermal runaway, making it safe for continuous use in commercial and industrial environments.  

Newcastle lithium power systems are rated for a 5–7 year battery life depending on the product and usage profile. This compares to significantly shorter replacement cycles for SLA systems, which is a primary driver of lithium's lower total cost of ownership over time. 

 Capacity selection depends on the devices' power draw. Higher-capacity systems can support power-hungry components like PCs and laser printers, while lower-capacity systems are sufficient for lighter loads such as tablets, handheld scanners, or laptops.  Yes. Newcastle offers a Multi-Bay Charging Rack designed specifically for the Nucleus® battery family. It provides a space-efficient way to charge and store multiple battery packs simultaneously, making it practical for operations that run multiple shifts or manage a larger fleet of carts. 

Newcastle offers two accessories for the Nucleus Classic: a Remote Battery Meter that displays remaining runtime in real time, and a Battery Diagnostic Tool that monitors battery data to ensure optimal performance and reliability over time. Periodic diagnostics help identify cells that are degrading before they impact operations. 

Yes. Newcastle power systems output clean, stable AC power — unlike generators, which can produce voltage fluctuations harmful to computers, printers, and POS systems. All systems are designed and rated for use with sensitive commercial electronics. 

Newcastle power systems are used across warehouse and distribution center operations, manufacturing and production floors, e-commerce fulfillment, retail environments, healthcare, data centers, and field service applications. Charge times vary by system and battery capacity. The PowerSwap Nucleus® is designed for swappable operation, so charge time is less critical to uptime — a depleted pack can be swapped out in seconds while a fresh one takes over.
